This exceptional single-origin coffee comes from Limu, Ethiopia, in the Kaffa region — the birthplace of coffee itself. Grown at elevations above 1,600 meters, these beans develop a beautifully complex character. Expect a full-bodied cup with elegant floral notes, bright citrus aromas, and a smooth finish with hints of jasmine, cocoa, and subtle fruit.
The coffee cherries are hand-picked between November and January by local farmers and grown beneath the canopy of a natural coffee forest. After harvest, the ripe red cherries are brought to a dedicated washing station in Limu, where they are carefully washed and slowly dried on raised beds to preserve quality and flavor. Much of this processing work is carried out by women from the local community.
Once dried, the green beans are roasted locally in Ethiopia. This FairChain approach keeps more value and jobs in the coffee-producing region. The slow roast — approximately 27 minutes at 197°C — enhances the coffee’s syrupy body, cocoa depth, and delicate jasmine undertones, with a gentle, sugar-like sweetness in the aftertaste.
To lock in freshness, the beans are immediately nitro-flushed after roasting, removing oxygen from the packaging. Each bag includes clear roast information, so you know exactly when your coffee was prepared — fresh, traceable, and responsibly made.
